Owner and Chief Engineer Chris Erlon, graduated from the University of Texas in 1988 with degrees in English and Radio/Television/Film, and began working in Austin as a freelance engineer, musician, and composer. In 1991, as digital audio workstations were just beginning to emerge, Chris started digital domain of austin. It became the first studio in Austin to use Digidesign’s ProTools and continues to lead the Austin recording community in technological upgrades. Chris has worked on thousands of national radio and television commercials, documentaries, films, and television series, and he remains one of the most requested commercial audio engineers in Central Texas. Once finally leaving his domain, Chris enjoys savoring snobby beers, driving race cars, and taming wild mustangs, though not at the same time. He lives 35 miles outside of Austin on 40 pine-wooded acres with his wife Julie, their kids Kristen and Collin, dogs (Josie, Brindie, Tipsy), donkeys (Uncle Sam & Grover), horses (Moxey, Jaro, Raindrop & Flora), and various other creatures that seem to come and go.
